Due to difficulty navigating this route with the many unmarked trails I will consider this a mapless/no drop ride and I am limiting the ride to 12 riders, including the ride leader. Due to the history of 2-3 riders canceling or not showing up, I will allow 15 riders to register. When or if I get 15 registered riders, I will close registration and label the ride as full. So, if you really want to do this ride, register early before it closes! If the ride is full and you still want to ride, please send me a text or email and I will add you to the list if openings become available.
This will be a “B” effort ride that will be mostly on bike trails and low traffic roads. The ride leader will ride at a “B” effort pace and attempt to keep everyone that wants to ride at that pace together, but self-sufficient faster or slower riders are invited to ride at any pace that they prefer. There are 2 planned rest stops. The first will be a quick restroom stop at Minnehaha Falls at mile 6. The second will be at the Theodore Wirth Trailhead at mile 19. Food service at the Trailhead can be slow, so I recommend bringing snacks along.
This route will take us along the Mississippi River, Minnehaha Creek, Lake Nakomis, Lake Harriet, Lake Bde Maka Ska, Cedar Lake, Theodore Wirth and the Cedar Lake Bike Trail.
Please use on street parking near the Urban Growler Brewing Company and leave the parking lot open for other customers. The ride briefing will be in the parking lot.
After the ride, plan on joining us for food and refreshments at the Urban Growler. The Food and Beer menu can be viewed on their web site. http://urbangrowlerbrewing.com/
I will not have any route maps or cue sheets at the ride start, so please download the route onto your GPS bike computer or to print a map and cue sheet, click the GPS Route Link, then click on More in the black box above the ride name, then Print Map & Cue PDF then Print Official
