If the rain holds off until 11:00 as some of the forecasts indicate, we'll have time to get in a bike ride and maybe even a quick breakfast stop. The planned route starts from McCullough Park in Shoreview, then heads around Centerville Lake with a brief rest stop at 10 miles. We'll stop for breakfast 6 miles later at McDonald's in Circle Pines and then make our way back to the finish. This will be a mapless, stay-together ride. As usual, faster self-sufficient riders may go on ahead, and the Ride with GPS link has the information needed to navigate the route. Rain, especially with lightning, will be a cause for cancellation or for a shortened route without a breakfast stop. That'll be OK -- we need the rain more than I need a Sausage McMuffin.
The entrance to McCullough Park is on County Road I in Shoreview, between Lexington Ave and Hodgson Rd. There is a portable toilet at the start but bring your own water. Please check for cancellations before leaving home. If the ride is canceled, I will try to post it on the calendar and the forum by 6:30 Saturday morning and will send an email to those who have registered. Call or text Lyle at 612 516 2053 with questions.
