Rice Creek Trails

I created this route for riders that prefer to ride on bike trails as much as possible and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature rather than the noise of car traffic. But, since most trails aren’t marked, navigating this route will be difficult without guidance from a GPS unit. The most effective means of navigating this route would be using audio queues from the RWGPS app on your phone. The printed map and queue sheet for the 51-mile route will be 4 pages.

There are two distance options. The short route does both the Little Canada and Rice Creek trail systems for 43 miles. The longest route continues north on the Rice Creek Trails through Circle Pines for 51 miles. There are satellite restrooms available on both routes. There is a Quik Stop Convenience Store at mile 29 on the short route. There is a Casey’s convenience store at mile 33 or the Quik Stop at mile 38 on the 51-mile route. If you prefer a more private rest stop, you will pass through many parks that have picnic tables.

Park your car in the parking lot on the south side of the pavilion. If that lot is full, there is a parking lot on the north side of the pavilion. Satellite restrooms are available on the north side of the pavilion. The route starts on the bike trail on the south side of the pavilion.

The signup sheet and rider briefing will be next to the Hamm Memorial Water Falls.

Pre-registration is available for this ride and I encourage you to take advantage of it.

After ride refreshments are available at the Dock & Paddle in the Como Park Lakeside Pavilion.

I will not have route maps or que sheets at the ride start, so please download the route you intend to ride onto your GPS bike computer or to print a map and cue sheet, click the GPS Route Link below, then click on More in the black box above the ride name, then Print Map & Cue PDF then Print Official
