I’ve only been back riding a few days and I’m already pretty freakin’ tired of the wind! Also, hoping we can sneak this ride in so the weekend isn’t a total rain-out! Yes, whining, just a little bit!! Thank you very much! This is a pretty squirrelly route but hoping some nice houses and pretty spring flowers to look at and we won’t notice the wind too much.
Ride starts at Hugo City Hall and bathrooms are available in the new Lions Park Community Building. Hoping we also see some portable toilets popping up along with the spring flowers, but for sure, a rest stop at the Holiday Station when we cross Hwy 61 at 14.8 miles.
Other than that, route is out here. Cross your eyes and maybe you’ll see some kind of animal in the outline of the route – maybe you can imagine a Sandhill Crane’s head popping up at about 24 miles. Maybe just me! But we did see a couple Sandhill’s around last week.
I plan to ride at a B/C pace and average somewhere around 12.5-13 mph at the end. Faster riders are welcome to grab the route and ride ahead. If another ride leader wants to jump in and take charge of a faster group, that’d be excellent. I don’t have time to drive or check out this route and hoping no construction or torn up roads. Cues seem pretty accurate so we’ll give it a try.
We all know rain is around, so if wet roads or rain coming, ride will be canceled. Please check the Forum, Ride Calendar or please call or text me at 612-381-6711 before leaving home to make sure we plan to ride.
